When using the Line or Area function, there is a way to get a perfectly straigh line while using Stratosphere.

Option #1 

If you hold down the Shift key on your keyboard while measuring a Line or an Area, the software will give you a perfectly straight line.  If you take your finger off of the Shift button you can move in any direction.

Option #2 

If you hold down the Shift key and tap the letter "O" on your keyboard, the keyboard combination (Shift/O) will leave the ortho mode on and eliminate the need to hold down the Shift key.  Using the Shift/O keyboard combination turns the ortho mode on and off.   If you have a line where 90% of the line is a straight line and you have one diagonal line, you can hold down the Shift key when you get to the diagonal and will turn off the ortho mode for that one click.  Remove your finger from the Shift key and the software will go right back into the Ortho mode.
