Do delete a Line, Area, Rectangle or Count click on the Select icon and then click on the object/shape.  Once the shape is selected, tap on the Del or Delete key on your keyboard.  This will delete the shape and update the quantity in your layer list.  If you layer is linked to a quantity in your Excel spreadsheet, make sure to click on the Refresh button to update the cell with the lastest total after the shape has been deleted.
